Today’s Coloring Sheet: Water Pumps

Each coloring sheet is created from a real photograph. This photograph was taken by an amazing photographer named Kari Greer. She is contracted by the federal land management agencies in the United States of America to document wildland fire incidents throughout the country.

What is going on in this photo?

There are several types of water delivery systems used in wildland firefighting – a portable pump, like the one in this coloring sheet, is one of the more widely used options. Some other examples include floatable pumps, fire engines, hydrants, and helicopter buckets. The goal of all water delivery systems, including portable pumps, is to provide proper water flow and pressure through the hose and nozzles so that firefighters can spread water onto fires.
