The Smokey Generation is excited to begin a brand new collection focusing on stories from individuals who provide professional private wildland fire services throughout the west. These folks provide critical fire prevention, fire suppression, and incident support services – ranging from hazardous fuels reduction to catering meals in fire camps. We are excited to provide their unique perspective as part of our larger collection of wildland fire oral histories and digital stories.
These first few interviews were collected at the 2016 National Wildfire Suppression Association annual conference. There are many more on the way and we’d encourage you to explore the full interviews listed below (also posted on the Stories by Person page). Enjoy!
